How to avoid short-lived Lineage 2 servers
Signs of servers that close a week after opening, and how to check a project before the start with the trust index and the server graveyard.
A short-lived server opens with loud advertising, collects donations in the first days and shuts down when the flow of players drops. Players' time and money are lost. You can spot such projects in advance by a few signs.
Warning signs
A hastily made website with no forum, Discord or Telegram. The announcement appeared a couple of days before opening. Promises of an “eternal server” without a single fact about the team. A donation shop with items that decide PvP. The same owner has already opened servers that closed quickly.
How to check on L2Signal
Every server has a trust index from 0 to 5 shields. It is calculated automatically: whether the website is up, whether there is Discord or Telegram, how long the server has been running, whether players vote for it. If the owner had closed projects before, the index drops.
We check server websites every day. If a website is down for three days in a row after opening, the server goes to the graveyard, where you can see how long it lived.
What else helps
Join the open beta before the opening and watch the server's stability. Read its Discord: active communication with the staff is a good sign. Don't spend money in the first days until you are sure the project is alive.
